A person commits the offense of misrepresentation of academic credentials who, knowing that the statement is false and with the intent to secure employment at or admission to an institution of higher education in Tennessee, represents, orally or in writing that such person: Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas from an accredited institution of higher education; Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas from a particular institution of higher education; or Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas in a particular field or specialty from an accredited institution of higher education. All positions require a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be asked to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered. If you are making application for a classified or administrative position, the background check process is conducted via electronic means and allows you to authorize and submit your pertinent information using the secure website of our background check vendor, True Screen. Additional Information Important Notice: The Clery Act Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available on the website of the APSU Police Department. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings, or property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the Clarksville, Ft. Campbell, Springfield, and Dickson campuses. It contains policies on crime reporting, alcohol/drug use, crime prevention and other matters. The report also provides information regarding fire safety and statistics. You can view this report by clicking HERE . A paper copy is available by contacting the APSU Police at (931) 221-7786 . The department also maintains a daily log of campus crimes that are reported to campus and local police. The log can be viewed HERE and clicking on the “Crime Log” link.
